Flickgame Emblem
A faux strategy RPG in the style of Fire Emblem, made using Flickgame.
You are an up-and-coming tactician. Due to unforeseen circumstances, you find yourself in the middle of a civil war unfolding in the kingdom of Dalheim.
After the king's untimely death, Prince Arloff is seeking to claim the Flicker Emblem, an artifact of tremendous power. He plans to use it to further his expansionist ambitions.
Standing against him is Minnette, a studious female lord and the heir to the Dalheimian throne. Although a pacifist at heart, she has to take arms to fend off her brother's campaign. Recognizing your talent, she employs you as the royal tactician.
Can you return peace to the nation of Dalheim?

That worked really really well. I genuinely felt like I was fighting in a fight with elemental affinities. And two separate systems?! ^^
Thanks so much!! Glad you enjoyed it. Haha, yes, I was inspired by some of the older Fire Emblem games where there was a weapon triangle (Axe/Lance/Sword) and a magic triangle (Darkness/Anima/Light). Since it was short I wanted to have some complexity.
Looking forward to trying this tool again in the future!
That ending felt emotionally moving! Combining a little battle puzzle with a sincerely touching frame definitely got the Fire Emblem feel across. Clever to get a sort of puzzle game within the Flickgame tool, I must admit, I got caught up in the moment and got a Game Over the first time.
Thanks so much! Yes, I've been playing a lot of Fire Emblem lately so I tried to capture the feel, glad it came through. ^^
Here's praying for a peaceful nation
Amen 🌼 thanks for playing
This blew me away with how much detail and complexity you were able to fit into a flickgame! I have some ideas... :D
Thank you so much! ^^ Ooh, what are your ideas?
Also, love the username. I've always loved Jabberwocky.
Oh nice! I made a Jabberwocky visual novel at one point. :) : https://outgrabe.itch.io/jabberwocky
You've got me thinking about rock, paper, scissors-styled simple battle systems like what you've presented here. Very interesting!
I played this more often than I would like to admit. And it really paid of, super nice ending, and a really nice game loop within the limits of the format! More please <3
Thank you so much! This is my first time with the engine and I'm interested to see what else I can do with it. ^^
Simple but sweet. I really like the last three slides.
Thank you! Yes I spent most effort there.
